ViitorCloud collaborated with the Noida International Airport Ltd. and Zurich Airport to develop an immersive digital twin solution that leverages holographic technology to bring the Noida International Airport masterplan to life. Designed for high-profile presentations and architectural visualization, the holographic simulation allows decision-makers to navigate the airport design interactively, evaluating internal and external design elements, development phases, and construction progress within a visually striking, 3D holographic environment.
The objective was to create a groundbreaking visual experience for Noida International Airport Ltd., going beyond conventional architectural design presentations. By leveraging holographic technology, the goal was to provide a solution that enables real-time interaction with the airport masterplan, presenting the future outcomes of the development in a captivating format. This was a key component of the airport’s ground-breaking ceremony, attended by notable dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Several technical and logistical challenges were encountered in creating the holographic simulation:
Large CAD Data Management: Architectural designs, typically rendered in CAD formats, require high processing power, and large files demand efficient handling for real-time interactions.
Real-Time Data Visualization: Integrating live construction planning and progress data into the model required a flexible design to adapt and update with ongoing changes.
Legacy Presentation Methods: Standard promotional approaches, such as video and physical models, were insufficient for showcasing the intricate details of a large-scale project like the Noida International Airport.
ViitorCloud designed an innovative, interactive holographic solution that transformed the airport masterplan into an accessible, immersive experience:
Optimized 3D Holographic Model: Developed a lightweight yet detailed 3D holographic model of the airport masterplan, inclusive of the surrounding areas, offering seamless navigation and visual accuracy.
Interactive Holographic Simulation: The simulation was rendered on Axiom Holographics, enabling users to interact with the model via 3D glasses. View options included first-person, bird's eye, and cross-sectional views of the infrastructure.
Data-Driven Design: Integrated real-time construction data and polygon models (CAD, BIM) into the platform, allowing for on-demand insights into the progress and future visualizations of the airport.
Enhanced User Accessibility: The system was designed to allow decision-makers to detect and correct design errors that might not be apparent on traditional 2D layouts.
